This week we used wire to create these very intriguing faces. It was a really, really challenging art project. The youngest child was 4 years old. An adult had to help some children with the fixing of the objects together but this is a great project to try and has huge learning on many different levels.
We looked at faces and proportions first. The children then drew continuous contour line drawings. These linked into the strange faces.
I encouraged thechildren to make the big face shape first. Then we build the eyes and nose etc and then bent them into the face shape. Hair and ears were also added. These were crazy , great fun to make.
