Art exhibition 2021

Hello everyone . This weekend we enjoyed the 2021 art exhibition in the garden of The Studio. It was a cloudy but warm afternoon as all the children walked in with their family in toe. The artworks had been set up around the artroom and the room adjacent as well as in the garden.

I purposefully set up the work in random places so that the children have to search fr their work while enjoyig the owrk of others along the journey.

The collections cover the previous term as well as some works we have completed in this last art term of the year. These included the Walter Batiss animal creations seen here above and the charcoal Van Gogh chair inspirations.

These in this frame include the drawings f The Jacket and skull inspired by Georgia OKeefe.

The pottery flower creations are linked to the Batiss work of -- let us imagine or create a new flower.

There are some drawings of the art teacher done in pastel as well as some tiny yet delicate water colour works.

It was a day filled with a shared interest and good food. Thank you to everyone who joined in and shared this afternoon with The Studio .

How comfy is your chair?

These works were done usinf charcoal - bold, big, and yet really carefully observed.

These children are of various ages. I love the way the approach this difficult art subject with casual confidence.

We share the story of Van Gogh and looked at the use of subject matter in his - evey day items- in particular the Van Gogh Chair.

We gave the pop up chair idea ago. Really gret fun!
