A visit t The Norval - Full House

Last week I was privileged to take a bunch of kids to see the William Kentridge Art Exhibition at the Norval.

This is no ordinary bunch of kids. These are children from Full House school. I count it an enormous joy to be able to share art with them. They are the most awesome bunch of kids and because  they have not experienced anything as wondersous as the Norval collection of Kentridge or the extraordinary gardens and hidden sculptures, they enjoyed it all to the max.

This was an absolute highlight of my term.  Sharing art with kids at the Norval. The delight and unashamed questions were just special. Kids sure do ask it like it is.

Holiday Art Classes

Once a year I hold holiday art classes. This year we embarked on these beautiful succulent paintings.

Annual Art EXhibition

Each year we hold an art exhibition in the garden. It is a lovely community activity and a highlight of the year. This year was no different. Here are some photos of the artwork displayed around the garden. It is a kind of hide and seek art time for all.

oil paintings

I have a group of children who have been drawing with me for many years now. They are budding artists. I run an older group for these kids and in this class we get to work on more project type artworks.

This term we also engaged in the still life drawing and then the young teens moved onto working on a canvas with oil paint. Oil paint is tricky to master and I think they did well.

These are some of the works the works.
