In this project, we used Line to create artworks. The children watched two youtube explainations on Line first and then created their own little squares of a variety of line including making line with strays, sticks and fabric.
Each child painted a large piece of board with a colour and then onto this surface, they created a work using primarily line.
For some children, this was a difficult idea and they kept wnating to come back to the idea of creatig an object. thers had a great deal of fun swirling and splatting with their line. All of these works are beautiful, unique and reflect a wonder of the world.
some works have 3D line while others remain flat. These are ALL simply delightful and once again highlight that and how children need not create work that is the same or even similar but rather, when given a broad enough scope and freedom, they design and create from within using their knowledge of the world.
those that finished earlier - how small can you draw?
This is a blog about kids and art. We have enormous fun in our classes. We learn along the journey with art... we learn about art and what it is and we explore those artisits who have gone before us. I work from the premise that ALL people can learn how to draw. I hope you feel inspired by some of these ideas just as you have inspired us in some of the projects we have taken on.
