Down By The Bay - The Boat Lesson

I took some photographs of these awesome boats down in Kalk Bay Harbour. We used them and many more in our art class. This lesson focused on ....
 1. Drawing Big - in other words draw so that you fill your page.
 2. Draw carefully , looking at the details in the Photograph.
 3. Use texture to fill in some shapes.
4. Newspaper and coloured paper collage creates texture as does sandy paint and flour and paint. Children could add their own sand, flour and lentils to the paint so that the paint had actual texture.

 5. feeling comfortable with filling in one or two spaces and leaving the others blank.

 5. Using pencil in three ways. Pressing very lightly ; pressing dark and then somewhere in between.
