Still life - pencil work with a splash of colour.

 These are our still life pictures. I love these. The children always approach this project with confidence. I love that about teaching art to kids.

Some of these children are 6 years old and others in my class are 12. This is a lesson about teaching children to look carefully at an object put before them. We talk about the shape and position of the things set before them.

 The learn to put things that are along side each other together in a compesition.

 The added dimention to this lesson was a splash of colour. The children had to select a focal point and work some colour into this spot with coloured pencil.

 I do this kind of lesson once a term and each time the work that is created are fabulous with lots of learng taking place.
