This art class was full. Full of discussion and full of exploring . How do we as South Africans get around? So many answers.....
The idea was to get to the TAXI as a means of transport. We discussed how people need to use public transport and what that all looks like for children and adults.
The children had to create NDEBELE patterns on the sides of their own Taxi. We talked about Ndebele art and the history of it and the meaning of the colours.
The final fun came when each child could create a short little story of things someone might take with them if they traveled from an urban to a rural setting. Chickens, buckets, ladders and the like all came to life on top of the traveling taxi. Delightful!!
